A Vancouver based mineral exploration company, Nexus Gold focuses its efforts on the worlds most prolific exploration and mining districts. Nexus is currently developing two projects in Burkina Faso, West Africa. Located on the Boromo greenstone belt, the Niangouela gold concession is proximal to the Kalsaka deposit and the Sabce shear.
Nexus Gold is featuring numerous near-surface gold occurrences of both length and grade, as highlighted by historical drill results. Previously explored by Riverstone Resources and Roxgold Inc., the property contains three distinct gold trends, each extending 5 kilometers in length.
The Niangouela gold exploration permit covers 178 square kilometers. To date, a total of 1,173 gold samples have been collected. Nexus Gold completed its initial sampling in December of 2016. This sampling included an 800m Rotary Air Blast (RAB) drill program. These samples returned high-grade mineralization.
A Phase One 2,000-meter Diamond Drill program began at Niangouela in January 2017. The objective to test the primary quartz vein and associated shear zone at depth and along strike while targeting areas of gold anomalies identified from rock samples and RAB drilling. The drilling successfully intersected the shear zone for over 200 meters along strike and to depths of 105 meters below the surface. The shear zone remains opens along strike and to depth.
Nexus Golds Bouboulou exploration permit covers an area of 38.8 square kilometers approximately 75 kilometers north-west of the capital Ouagadougou. The Bouboulou permit is bisected by the Sabce shear zone and is located on the Boromo-Goren greenstone belt. Gold mineralization was first identified at Bouboulouby Boliden in 1997. A regional Rotary Air Blast (RAB) drilling program outlined a broad north-east trending gold anomaly measuring 13 kilometers by 2 kilometers.
The potential for two types of gold deposits exist at Bouboulou. The first trend appears to be lithologically controlled and would be more likely to potentially host gold deposits consistent with the belt in the 20 to 40 million tonne range at grades of 1 to 3 grams per tonne. 1 tonne = 1,000 kilograms. The second trend being oblique to the main shear could possibly host a higher grade lower tonnage type deposit in the 5 to 7 million tonne range at grades of 5 to 7 grams per tonne.
Another Nexus project is the Walker Ridge Gold Project, located in the USA at the Jerritt Canyon/Independence Gold Trend in northeastern Nevada. Nexus Gold Corp. is the first mineral exploration company to utilize a leading-edge, innovative Element Detection Technology (EDT) to compliment traditional geophysical exploration techniques.
Nexus Gold is positioned as a unique and highly visible exploration company as a first-mover at the forefront of a potentially significant technological industry advance. In late 2015, Nexus began to drill Walker Ridge with initial results on the first hole confirming both gold and silver mineralization in the lower plate host rocks. Nevada produces 79% of all gold mined in the USA and is the fourth largest gold producing region in the world.
